I just saw over at dvdpricesearch.com that Millennium: The First Season is coming out on dvd July 20. Great news. :goodie: I loved that series, slightly more than The X Files. Now I can only hope that the dvd release of this series doesn't go the way of Twin Peaks.

Yahoo! :goodie: :goodie: :goodie:

I liked this much more than the X-Files. I'm really looking forward to the whole series on disc so I can finally figure out what happened toward the end of the last season.

I've got a stack of aging vhs copies, myself, which I can now retire along with my laserdisc of the pilot and first episode. I'll agree that the ending of Season 2 was great. I think the series was one of the smartest works on television since The Twilight Zone.

Meaning... ?? Is Twin Peaks deleted?

Not that I know of, but I got Season 1 for Christmas two years ago and have yet to hear of Season 2 being released. Hope that doesn't happen to Millennium.

And it's cheap, and the second season rocks.

I gotcha. No Season 2 for Twin Peaks on DVD. Yes, let's hope they eventually release Millennium Season 2. That was very good TV.Thanks. :)

p.s Still waiting for additonal seasons of Larry Sanders Show to appear on DVD. Glad I still have my old VHS tapes.

I used to love Friday night TV when it was Millennium>X-Files>Homicide.

It didn't get much better than that........

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I thought everyone would be happy to hear that Millennium: The Complete Second Season is expected in September. http://www.fourthhorseman.com/Abyss/DVD.htm

only 15 days till Amazon ships me Season One :)

Chris Carter really pushed the envelope with MILLENNIUM, it was much darker than any TV show this side of...yes, HOMICIDE! And so, a great Friday night tandem of dark shadings and nasty behavior.... :D

I thought it was very well done and compelling, and underrated...but it also put off a lot of X-FILES fans, which was going to be its core audience(so it was hoped)....didn't work out that way, but I stayed with it all the way through, so these box sets will be most welcome! A noble and grand commercial failure, and still an acquired taste, but then, so was HOMICIDE...

While "is expected" isn't usually the most reassuring use of passive voice when it comes to dvd (and sacd and dvd-a) releases, I will certainly keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. :edthumbs: Meanwhile, I anxiously await Season 1, which I will watch then place next to FREAKS & GEEKS on a shelf newly designated for smart, inventive, under-appreciated television series. :nauga:

Wow! I just took another look at http://www.fourthhorseman.com/Abyss, this time going to the homepage. This does look promising. I hereby withdraw my previous doubtful tone. :D

Okay, I'm getting excited. I upgraded the shipping on my Amazon order to two-day, so my MILLENNIUM set should be here Thursday. Anyone getting it before then, please post reviews.

All three seasons were so different from each other, as I recall. My short and brutal review was that season 1 was fragmentary and uneven, season 2 very tight continuity-wise but a bit dull in places, and season 3 a kind of train wreck that sort of pretended that we saw all season 2 in the wrong way, with surprises galore but maybe not so much logic any more.

Yes, it bugged me a lot :realmad: , and given it warped the series instead of deepening it, it was almost a relief to hear that no more would be forthcoming.

Still, it begs the question: how many folks will go for all three sets?
