Well, this weekend's Best Buy ad says 1st time on dvd. But that is incorrect. Anyway, has anyone viewed the disk yet and is it any different than the previous release?

Seems like the same Colin Jacobson to me. ;)

No, it's all just some huge coincidence. "Colin Jacobson" is an incredibly common name - it's up there with "John Smith"! :D

No mention of world trade center in the review. Is it still in the movie? It used to be on the dvd cover and now it's not, so that's why I'm wondering.

Remind me where the WTC appears in the movie I'll check. I think I recall seeing it at one point, but that's not the kind of thing that sticks with me. I'd be shocked if they cut it from the flick, though. It makes perfect sense to remove it from the cover art, but not from the movie itself...

The first place it is seen on the old version is 4m 30s into the movie. The WTC is on the left of the screen and there is a caption that says "New York City This Morning". See if that's there. If not, I would guess its been removed from the entire movie. There are longer scenes of it later on in the movie.

I compared the 2 discs and found the only difference to be the Touchstone logo at the beginning of the movie. Picture quality may be 5% or so better in the new one. Or it may be the same. Hard to tell for sure. Sometimes it looked better and sometimes the same. The menu on the old disk has the WTC in the background, and the new one doesn't. The sound is 5.1 on the new one. Didn't check that though.

I think the original DVD was non-anamorphic, whereas the new one's 16X9 enhanced. That alone makes it a big improvement for folks who can take advantage of it - like me!
