After a few false starts, it looks like this 1970 TV special will finally be out on DVD, March 23 or 30th, depending on where you get your info.

The cover graphics tell it will be the RINGO STARR narration. This film was first broadcast on ABC-TV with narration by Dustin Hoffman. Another release had Alan Thicke do the chore.

Would have been a nice use of DVD multiple track use if you could select which narrator you wanted to hear!

Ringo does a good job, anyway. No word on if it will be in "stunning" 5.1 sound...........

It's about time! This release was sure a tease.

There's also a version where Harry himself did the narration. Why am I not surprised who started this thread.

The Ringo narration version is the only one I really remember, so it works for me. I guess the Dustin Hoffman version aired on the original TV broadcast, but has never been available on home video. I probably saw the version with Alan Barzman as the narrator as a kid, but don't remember all that well. I know I have not seen the Alan Thicke narrated version.

Was there a similar deal with Hoffman and the TV program of "Horton Hears a Who"? I have some vague recollection about two versions of that one, one with Hoffman, and one with Hans Conreid. I think they have both been available on video

It's either gonna be Jon or Todd Fredericks, the Nilsson avatar guys. :)
