I found a place over in Germany called High Fidelity. They have 3 DCC Jefferson Airplane "Jefferson Airplane" lps. They said it cost about $88.00 US dollars for the lp and $30.00 shipping and insurance. They are mint and sealed. Has anybody out there ordered anything from this record store or anywhere in Europe? What kind of luck have had? Is this a pretty good price? Let me know. Thanks:)

David,

That's way too high of a price. Keep checking around and eventually you'll find one at a decent price. Just MHO;)

Hi David,

I got mine about a yr. ago for $30-35. Why don't ya try the usual places in the USA such as Red Trumpet, Griffco Records, Better Records, Music Direct, etc. Gotta be a better deal to be had.....

Jeffery,
I checked with all the places you named and no luck. I told them about the ones I found in Germany and the price. They said that was going to be the best I would find. They said they have not seen one of those since last year. Also they said all the DCC's that are out would probably be gone in about 6 weeks. Does anybody out there know where I can find one?

Try Brian4tar@aol.com , which is the ANALOG ROOM in San Jose. That's his e-mail , Brian will respond.

I have ordered quite a lot from this site, very nice to deal with - the pricing works a bit different for me as I live in the UK and his prices include VAT (if you ask he may be able to knock the 16% VAT off the price if it is going to the States or outside Europe) and shipping is almost nothing within Europe. If I buy from the States then I pay 20% extra in Duty and Tax plus between $10 and $30 shipping.

A great site in Austria is "Vienna Audiophile Records" at www.audiophiles.at - may not be such a bargain outside Europe but a steal otherwise.

All the best - Andrew

I know a place that has the Jefferson Airplane "Surrealistic Pillow" DCC LP for about US$ 32. Let me know if you´re interested. The actual postage as a registered letter is about $10 - $12.

I already think I know the answer to this but how much "sonically" better is Steve's version to an original pressing of this album? Can someone describe the differences? I know this seems silly but I'm not the biggest fan of the stereo mix (reverb, etc.) and I wanted to know if Steve's work on this makes "it" less painful. You know what I mean (I hope)...
