As per Indy Mike's suggestion, lets give this a whirl.

Please post your requests for items that you are just dying to have remastered by Steve and re-reissued by S&P and/or DCC.

To keep this list simple for Steve to keep track of things, lets try to keep this to *just* your requests, and perhaps a tiny commentary as to why if you feel like it, but to try and keep any further discussion in seperate topics (create one in Music Corner if you have to).

Basically, this means not "hijacking" the thread and turning it into a debate about, say, the merits of the latest Sinatra reissues. :)

Make sense? Great! Lets go!

Ok, I'll start! :D

I'm just *dying* for Steve remasters of the first several Heart albums.

He's already done Dreamboat Annie, so I'm really hoping for:

Little Queen
Magazine
Dog & Butterfly
Bebe Le Strange

How about a nice Gene Pitney greatest hits collection, with Town Without Pity in stereo!

Am I dreaming or what?! :)

I'd love to hear some more Wes Montgomery. I have all the Wes DCC gold discs and they are very nice thank you so very much!!

Jazz for me is fairly new. I really do like jazz guitar so anything in that vein would be quite a treat.

Others on my wish list are what everyone else on this planet wants: Beatles & Pink Floyd!

OK, Steve, I'm going to be thoughtful here: I'm going to select only CDs that might not have enormous licensing fees.

Small Faces: Ogden's Nut Gone Flake
Pretty Things: Parachute
Pretty Things: SF Sorrow
Tomorrow: Tomorrow
Thunderclap Newman: Thunderclap Newman
Annette Peacock: X Dreams
Donovan: Sunshine Superman
Donovan: Barabajagal

Speaking of the new Sinatra releases, don't you think that...

NO, NO - I'm just kidding, HZ! ;)

I'd LOVE if Steve could pull some strings and do some Lynyrd Skynyrd! But there is soooo much out there, re-releases, re-masters, GH packages right, left and center, I'm not sure if it would be a financial success. And it's definitely NOT obscure!

How about Doucette or BTO (Bachman - Turner Overdrive)? Ever hear of Sally Oldfield? Her best CD by far is Waterbearer!

Jon Anderson of Yes - solo stuff?

Rick Wakeman?

Thanks for listening!

I know I said this on the old board but there has to be a market for "Songs Of Leonard Cohen" or Walter Brennans' "Gunfight At OK Corral"

Hmm, where to begin ...

"After the Gold Rush," "On the Beach," "Comes a Time" (Neil Young)

"Tug of War" (Paul McCartney)

"The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society" (Kinks)

"A Love Supreme" (John Coltrane)

"The Notorious Byrd Brothers" (The Byrds)

... These just came off the top of my head. I could go on and on ...

Anybody up for the task of re-tallying the survey on the other board? Some people voted more than once, myself included, but that survey can be perceived as a good informal place for the new company to look at licensing. I don't think the important result of the survey was picking a single winner (I know, Abbey Road) but an across-the-board view of what this demographic may purchase.

Hi,

I would love to have:

Jethro Tull- Stand Up, Heavy Horses, Crest of a Knave, Broadsword & the Beast. These would be great, but I would buy ANY Jethro Tull.

Rush- Permanent Waves, Hemispheres, Hold Your Fire, and Moving Pictures. Again...Anything by Rush would do.

James Taylor "Sweet Baby James"

Renaissance "Scheherazade and other Stories"

Charlie Rich "Pictures and Paintings"

Randy Newman "Sail Away"

Queensryche "Rage for Order" and "Operation Mindcrime"

Gruppo Sportivo "Mistakes"

Blue Oyster Cult "Imaginos" for some reason it is out of print.

Nat Cole "After Midnight"

The Bears (both albums) These were very good albums, and I think they are both out of print.

Merle Haggard "Kern River"

Other artists I would support: Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Crow, Iron Maiden, Billy Squier, Marty Robbins.

There are tons of others, but I will give everybody a break.

Thanks for this opportunity to list requests!!:D

Tony

There has to be a market for these titles besides the ones Larry Naramore mentioned:
a gold disc of Mason Williams Phonograph Record and/or an aluminum disc of Mason Williams's Handmade album
Ssgt. Barry Sadler-The A Team (yes, the stereo master tape does exist in BMG's vault and it does sound great. I haven't heard the tape in person but I have gotten an MP3 of the title track dubbed from the master tape so I can vouch for its quality)
Joe South-Introspect (so we can get a domestic CD of this album)
the rest of Joe South's catalog
gold discs of Gordon Lightfoot albums and/or a 24 Karat Hits album
gold discs of John Denver albums and/or a 24 Karat Hits album
Frank Mills-Music Box Dancer

So many choices, so little time!

Joe Walsh-especially Barnstorm/Smoker/So What
ELO-Face the Music and Out of the Blue
Rush-Permanent Waves/Moving Pictures/Caress of Steel
Gerry Rafferty-City to City
Manfred Mann-Roaring Silence/Chance
Dire Straits-Love Over Gold/On Every Street/heck, all of 'em
Mott the Hoople-Mott
REO-High Infidelity (yes, I'm serious:o)

Of course, I'd certainly also line up for the titles we all drool over-Floyd, The Who, Beatles, etc...

I would like to see the early Rush catalog done on audiophile vinyl. The MFSL cd's were excellent but I salivate to think what Geddy's bass and Neil's drums would sound like on vinyl. Titles should include:

Farewell To Kings
2112
Hemispheres
Signals
Moving Pictures

Steve H. already remastered Gerry Rafferty's City to City album a few years ago on gold disc.

Hello,one and all !
Good to see most of the usual suspects here.
Now down to business

my 24K Hits/Best Of dreams

Harry Nilsson
Everybody's Talkin',One,Without Her,Jump Into The Fire,As Time Goes By etc..

Les Baxter
Quiet Village etc..
Nice workout for the hi-fi,great 50's recordings, unique arrangements, just plain great music.

Duane Eddy
Comp of Jamie/RCA material
Rebel Rouser,Boss Guitar etc..

Now to original albums

Black Sabbath
1st 5 albums

Queen
Queen(debut)
Queen 2(an absolute must w/See What A Fool I've Been)
A Day At The Races
The Works(the band's return to form,I know it didn't make much of an impact in the States but it has classics like Radio Ga Ga,I Want To Break Free and Hammer To Fall the best hard rocker they had done in years.)

Curtis Mayfield
Superfly

Deep Purple
Deep Purple In Rock(the best album by this band,I know Americans always seem to love Machine Head better, but this one smokes it for my money and most Purple fans outside the U.S seem to agree.) and of course Machine Head.

Thin Lizzy
Live And Dangerous (title says it all)

Freddy King
Both his Instrumental albums for King on a 2fer.

Jeff Beck
Truth/Beckola 2fer

Iggy And The Stooges
Raw Power original '73 Bowie mix.

Rose Tattoo
Rose Tattoo- 1978 debut album by Australian hard rockers, may not mean much in the U.S but they tour Europe every summer, the Germans loved 'em back then and still do.The album has classics like Rock N Roll Outlaw,Bad Boy For Love,Astra-Wally and the original Nice Boys(Don't Play Rock N Roll),ignore the puerile cover, hear the original, there's no make-up and hairspray with these guys, they were way to ugly and lead singer Angry Anderson doesn't sound like a screeching off-key Ethel Merman(with all respects to Miss Merman) like the singer from that other band. This album pounds AC/DC into the dust where they belong.

One of my favorite LP's ever. I don't think MFSL had too much trouble getting the rights to the first to VU LP's. The Velvets have quite a cult of fans. Should be a huge seller. Lou's songs on that LP are just beautiful. Let me know w/ you think.
