My dad came over for a visit yesterday....I wanted to show him my latest setup(bedroom setup) with my latest installment, Stirling's LS3/5A's...
I played Steve's version of Buddy Holly "From the original master tapes" cd...
when "Everyday" started my dad said, "Oh man, I can almost see him in front of me."
Buddy Holly also paid a visit yesterday.....
Then I played DCC's Elvis "Are You Lonesome Tonight"........My Pa said "Oooh, that's really ghostly." Elvis was right in the center materializing.........instruments to his left and right.... He kept shaking his head all through the song.......
He said, good god.....I can see the whole stage...I can pinpoint where each instrument is coming from....
So then I did a comparison test of the Mofi Elton John's "Candle In The Wind" from"Goodbye Yellow brick Road", and DCC's version from the Greatest hits...
I first played the mofi......which was impressive..then the DCC......"Whoa, the vocals and the piano are so much better...Play the other one again.....Okay, play the other one...Oh, my god it's better in everyway.....Drums are deeper.......everythings just more focused.....the other one's poopy compared to this one(DCC).....
So now my dad wants a pair of the LS3's.....I told him I could probably find used pair off ebay for around 500, and a good tube amp for around the same off of ebay.....So now he's all Jazzed.....
It was cool to see him so enthusiastic about the music like that....
