I was digging through my discs today and found a comp with the ultra fab Do You Know What I Mean? by Lee Michaels onnit - have you ever remastered this tune, or any of his other stuff? Also, for 50 bonus points, who's slappin' the skins on that? If it ain't Hal Blaine, it must be one of his disciples - man, what a workout!

Probably Frosty on drums. Usual Lee Michaels drummer.

Played mostly for Lee Michaels used to do drum solos and throw his sticks in the air and catch them without missing a beat. After leaving Lee Michael he started his own band called Sweathog. Later joined up witha famous group but I can't remember which one. Don't forget that 1 after mcow

Mono Mike,
If I recall, the "Do You Know What I Mean" that I mastered for DCC's Golden Age Of Underground Radio, volume one was the first CD release of that song, or any Lee Michaels stuff.
Right off the two-track master! Had a nice warm thuddy sound that I liked a lot.

That's how it sounds on the disc I have - very thuddy sounding (think there were JBL's used as monitors for this session???) Guess I'll need to track down that Underground comp and do some comparing...

Does anyone know the best sounding version of the Lee Michaels-Lee Michaels 1969 LP?
