Which guitar loops are super simple to play and still great:

to start-
Smoke on the water (Ritchie Blackmore)
Whole lotta love (Jimmy Page),
Whole lotta rosie (Angus Young)

My vote is for Free's "All Right Now" (either air guitar or the real thing).

Jethro Tull's "To Cry You A Song" one of the best!!!

I don't know if I have the right idea here (not a musician), but I'd like to vote for Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown" (OK, maybe not brilliant, but surely arse kicking).

Or tape-looped rhythm/guitar - "Show Biz Kids" by Steely Dan. Yummy!

ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man.
Eric Clapton: Forever Man
SRV: Pride And Joy
The Moody Blues: The Story In Your Eyes

Are we talking about loops or riffs?

Whilst it's not original I've always thought that the Black Night riff is far more melodic than the dirgy Smoke on the Water riff.

Hey Bulldog has a pretty good keyboard/guitar riff too.

Spirit of Radio - Rush

Can you imagine the creative energy it takes to channel a loop like that?

Altough many of the riffs/loops suggested are nice, to be able to play them is something else (at least for me). Something like Aint talking bout love from van Halen is great but requires some skill.
Everybody can learn how to play Smoke on the water within 5 minutes.
