What is the quality like of these pressings on British vinyl.

I haven't heard these LPs but I'm pretty sure they were mastered from the same digital masters used for the CDs so I would think they'd sound about the same.

I think Count.D was refering to the quality of the vinyl itself.
British vinyl to me anyway is hit and miss. Some real good (Wingspan, yeah the remastering sucks, but some of the cleanest wax I've heard in a long time) some real noisy (Yellow Submarine Songtrack yellow vinyl).
I remember some of those UK White Albums from the 80's being noisy as well.
It's a gamble.

Dave,
I haven't heard them at all, so are the cd's good?
John,
Forget the British vinyl part. I was just wondering what the opinion was on the mastering, pressing, etc..

They're mastered differently in the UK and in the US, Count. I was lucky enough to get a Promo of Anthology 1 on vinyl and it was a UK pressing (EMI).
The other two, along with other promos for Anthology 2 & 3 I got from some friends at Capitol were good, but sloppy in the pressing plant.
The UK issues sound much better, although in the threnth of content and continuity, it's better enjoyed on CD. Go for vinyl, but I have all 3 on vinyl and I barely spin them at all. I use the CDs.

Seems to me that all Anthology #1s were UK, no US pressing.

As a fan, I enjoy them. There are many interesting tid bits within the six discs. I do prefer them on CD since I can jump from track to track. I have listened to them all straight through but it's unlikely I'll ever do that again. My one complaint is that I would have liked more studio chatter but that's just a personal preference.

I have all 3 on uk vinyl (indeed, the 1st one was an import-only prospect) and I prefer them to the cd as the ends of the frequency spectrum seem more extended, eg: better detail in the bass and some whistling / swooshes on the mixing patch-ins which give you sonic clues as to how the whole is assembled. Of course, my speakers go to 25khz, so there is a lot of air up there . . your mileage may vary.
the graphics are larger on the lp's, works for me.
Leaner in the midrange than all my Beatles uk vinyl from the late 70's - early 80's.
Bass MUCH wetter sounding than the "Beatles #1" vinyl, which has hard / dry sounding bass and seems rather 2-d, not 3-d.

And more studio tracks. Leave the live stuff for a separate live disc or two, if anyone is interested. It just seems to get in the way here.
