As we al seem to talk about depth in our soundstage I would like to know what is the best way to record this.

1-a 2 mike stereo setup, ike Jazz at the Pawnshop
2-a 1 mike setup like Sheffields Harry James record
3-an artificial head mike (I have some of these test recordings but they only work with special headphones)
4-a Multi mike recordings and addin the depth artificially (How that is done I dont get anyway...if someone could explain)
5-an other method?

Just curiosity!

In an interview, Jimmy Page once said that in order to get more depth, move the mic further back from the subject. To get less, put it closer. :)

Whoa, Eric, you scared me there for a minute. I misread the subject line and thought you were asking about the "Best way to record death"!

For that answer, watch "Peeping Tom."
