I believe there is “Pillows” in the T.P. turntable stand, but it is up to TP to explain his set up.
For myself, I use a Lead Balloon Turntable stand that I modified. A
3 legged Steel tube stand with 3 sharpened adjustable steel studs in the bottom. Filled with #7 lead birdshot. On top of the legs three more sharpened to a point steel studs. A triangle plate on top with two 2-inch thick 20 lb lead bars on top of that. Then a 24 inch square 2-inch thick slab of polished Granite. Finally 4 adjustable soft rubber isolation feet, on top an air pumped turntable bladder. On all of this rests my Tweaked to the Max Lynn Turntable. BTW this set up is in a Walk-in Closet that is in the room adjacent to the listening room, for further isolation. This works for me.

Very nice. You don't often see the Graham arm on a Linn - what would the flat-earther's think. Isn't there an upgrade now to the Graham?

Is that a Ringmat? Do you normally have the lid off?

I believe there is a upgrade but I haven't pursued it yet.

Yes that's the Ringmat. I have over a dozen mats of different compositions, I even had 2 made out of windshield safety glass.
The Ringmat was the most neutral, imo.

The lids is always on except when listening.

I bought my Lynn from Neil Sinclair in the late 70's.

I had a M & K Rabco on it in the 80's when Liner Arm's were the thing.

I love the simple stuff Belts & Tubes.

No no, a special pillow. I just put one ($25) under my Cd player and it was a big improvement over the Aurios ($400).

You get them from me, for $25. I give them away with the electronics I sell and the inverters because they make everything sound better, so why not? Gives me an unfair advantage, just like I like it!

If you set any piece of equipment on a hard surface, like a shelf, and I mean ANY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, you are not hearing it at its best. This no doubt comes as a bit of a shock to readers of this forum, but it is nevertheless true. Vibration control is every bit as important as wire and tubes and good power and all the rest. Without it you have something less than hi-fi, as I define the term.

I may have my friend Kim post about the day I went ballistic at his house because he had secretly removed all his pillows and Aurios when we were supposed to listen to his system for some testing. It was quite a scene. The sound was just plain awful, and I couldn't understand what had gone wrong, since I more or less set up his system for him.

I calmed down when he restored them all and the sound got good, superb in fact. Bad sound upsets me. That's why I had to stop going into stereo stores and rooms at the hi-fi shows.
