I've got an old Systemdek II with a Grace 707B tonearm. The tonearm has a zillion little nooks and crannys for dust to collect.

A dust cover would be an awkward solution. Right now I'm using a tiny brush and Q-Tips in an attempt to not upset the settings.

Any suggestions? How about those compressed air cans I see people using to clean their computer keyboards?

Thanks

As long as the blast isn't too strong, I don't see how the compressed air could hurt. You may, though, want to keep it away from the bearing, since the air could force dirt into the bearing and crud it up. There isn't much mechanical in my own Grace (707-II), but it still is a precision mechanism.

Do you not have a dust cover? If not, you should try to cover it with something.... carefully, of course. I've seen pieces of pexi-glass or plastic that fit over your platter and tone arm. A simple device.... for $150.00. If I was still in grade school I could have made one for a lot less...
