Huh??? Did they actually market that thing? I tested a prototype during a High End trade show in Germany several years ago. They also had a contest where you could make a suggestion for a name for this. What is it called now?

It's called the Sennheiser Surrounder. I think it was out in the market for a year, or so. It came in two versions: The Surrounder, and The Surrounder Pro (main difference being, the Pro version had the DSP decoder for Dolby Pro-Logic).
Mine is a bit different from the one in the photo. It's a black unit with light grey speaker mesh. It worked exactly as advertised. I got it at a sale at my local hi-fi shop - I think I paid $20 for it, or so (the only thing it was missing was the 12V power source).
Damián - It's one of the coolest audio gizmos I have ever seen. You wear it on your shoulders - small speakers in the front, big speakers a bit behind your ears. You connect it to a 4 channel source, and voilá! Instant surround sound! The nifty thing is, you can turn your head around and the sound sources stay in place - so it was billed as a killer device for FPS gaming on the PC.
