This has to be one of the most obscure and undocumented "Rolling Stones/Beatles" connection songs in history.
"Shine A Light", years before Exile On Main Street, sung by Mick Jagger, with Ringo on Drums, Paul on Bass, Leon Russell on Piano and ?? on guitar.
So far, it only appears as an unreleased bonus track on the DCC Gold CD of the first self titled "Leon Russell" album.
Does anyone have any information about this song, when it was recorded, where, why, etc?
THANKS!
Found this (no mention of Paul):
January 1970: Olympic Sound Studios, London, England. (4:26)***
Leon Russell & Mick Jagger (with Ringo Starr):
Get a Line on You* (Jagger/Richards)* [early version of Shine a Light]
P.S. Was Eric Clapton the guitarist?

...which begs the question of how Steve got label clearance to include that track on a DCC release. ;)
This is the first I'd heard of this. "Shine a Light" is one of my all-time favorite Stones tracks, so I'm very intrigued.

Owned and paid for by Denny Cordell and Leon Russell of Shelter Records. DCC owned Shelter at one time.

The November 1993 ICE Magazine lists the line-up on this song as Mick on vocals, Leon on piano, Ringo on drums, Bill Wyman on bass and Chris Stainton on guitar. What is the correct line-up?

That's what my ears told me.
The scrawl on the old tape box was different.
Give a listen and report back.
I PERSONALLY think it's:
Mick on vocals, Leon on piano, Ringo on drums, Bill Wyman on bass and Chris Stainton on guitar.
But Denny C's notes on the old box had the "star studded" lineup. All in his mind? Why would he write that? Dunno...
But, since I hear what I hear, I stand by my ICE article until someone actually proves otherwise!
Only Wyman could play like that!

and she was playing in a band
and she stood just like Bill Wyman
now I am her biggest fan."

It's on there at the end as a bonus track with the title that was on the original tape box. I think it's "Got A Line On You" or something like that.
