Was Micro Seiki known as a good turntable manufacturer in its day?

That's what I thought after seeing them used in the shop I bought my Magneplaner MG-I's back in 1980 or so.
edit: They had one of those Goldmunds, I think that is what it was, in a more exclusive room. The kind that looked like it took a fork-lift to move.

I've always loved this model. I almost bought one once, but I passed on it. I wish I had got it.

Aaaaaah, yes, that's a nice one. DDX-1000. I think I'd only seen that once or twice in person, many many years ago. It always was out of my price range. Even today it's a bit much, but I've been keeping my eye on them. ;)

Does anyone have access to Blue Book values for any of these turntables? Just curious.

Wow, I was in a customers house last week delivering 2 Martin Logan Descent subs and he had what looked like that same turntable. I know for a fact it was a Micro but not sure of the model but it looked nearly identical to that pic.

I got to the Micro Seiki page OK--I had to list all models to find what I wanted, and I saved it on my computer locally. However, I tried to look up a couple of other components and it kept asking me for $3.99 to view the price.
The Blue Book prices were certainly an eye opener though...whoever got the $999 auction that Prix took the picture from, overpaid quiite a bit for it!

So far it works everytime
Indeed it does! :D I noticed, buried in the URL, is an "associate ID". If that's the case, someone's paid for it. Not very good security on their part, if it's that easy to circumvent the for-pay scheme.
But for now, I ain't complainin'! ;)
