I'm taking a break from moving my digital drink coasters to a new rack and noticed some neat neighbors in the stacks - RAB kings Johnny Burnette and the Rock n' Roll trio are next to Sonny Burgess (Steve, go fire up that geetar amp and play We Wanna Boogie right now!) :D Roy "Ooby Dooby" Orbison is smack up against Carl "Put Your Cat Clothes On" Perkins, and for you guitar geeks The Who are next to Link Wray, who's cozied up to The Yardbirds... What sorta neighbors do you have lurking on your shelves???

Weird ones.

I have a Russian CD of Pretty Things / S. F. Sorrow. Probably a straight copy from the 26th generation tape. It was very hard to find.

Just brough home the same CD, gold disk, imported from England. Finally came out oficially. They are staring at each other saying "play me first. I'm better than that... that Thing!"

This'll be interesting!

And the Blues Guitar Box 1 and 2 is ganging up on Texas Guitar Killers. Again. Gotta go separate them again! ;)

Maybe not as classy as Johnny and Sonny - but I always felt it ironic that Southside Johnny falls out right before Bruce Springsteen on my rack. Sort of like the hired hands leading the way for the boss..............

Although not particularly tied together musically The Clash and Patsy Cline have long been neighbors on my shelves both on vinyl and then on CD's. This was only reenforced more when I bought both their box sets Clash On Broadway and The Patsy Cline Collection on the same day back in 1991.

Also the two GP's, Graham Parker and Gram Parsons have been long time shelf buddies.

I get a kick out of the fact that my Neil Diamond CDs are sandwiched between DEVO and the Dictators.

Other wacky neighbors:

The Orb/Roy Orbison
Joan Osborne/Ozzy Osbourne
Peaches and Herb/Pearl Jam
The The/Them/They Might Be Giants
Third World/38 Special
Flying Burrito Bros./Flying Lizards
Communards/Perry Como
Bjork/Clint Black
Bauhaus/Bay City Rollers

I'm sure there's plenty more...
