Hello all, I have a new Sony digital camcorder. The factory installed stereo mic is way to easily over modulated so I am looking for something different. There is an auxillary 1/8" jack for an external mic but I don't know what to get. I am looking for something that is very small that could be easily stuck to the chassis of the camcorder, say with a small patch of velcro, so that I can also remove it for storage. I want a mic that can handle loud noises because I use this camera inside my drag car and my road race car as well as not being super sensitive to wind blowing. The camera gets used for everything I record and I want better sound to go with the better digital image. Thanks and have a great day.

I don't think there are too many quality stereo mics out there.

There are the two Sonys discussed here

And an Australian made one, I've not tried, and costs more.

It sounds to me like you should try the Sony 907
