I'm thinking of ordering this soon. Is it worth it? Does the sound totally blow away the muffled-sounding Capitol CD? I wish the DCC "Ram" was still available.

I'm a newbie to this audiophile thing, folks, so help me out.

Hello AKA,

Welcome. If you buy it and don't love it. I'll buy it from you and I'm sure at least half of the people on this forum would do the same. It's the best version period!;)

Yes, definatetly. Steve did a wonderful job by bringing the sound more forward, creating a more natural soundstage. "McCartney" is a lot of fun to put major watts behind. Just play "Every Night" and wait for lift-off.

"Ram" is a close second. Both are on my top 10 of DCC ever.

Right on! Thanks, guys. It looks like I will be grabbing the disc, then. Judging from the website, the CD boasts the original LP art, which is nothing short of awesome.

And FYI - I'm the one who started the online petition to remaster The Beatles (www.petitiononline.com/beatles), and I agree with the majority here - Steve should get his wish to remaster The Beatles. Sooner rather than later.

Uh, you better take a close look at some of those signatures, AKA. A rather unpleasant one from #527.

Very impressive how it's grown, but I'm still disappointed to see a lot of people asking they remaster it "just like '1' and 'Yellow Submarine.'" Ugh!

When I heard "Every Night" on the DCC Gold CD, I couldn't believe it. Amazing. I still play that disc all the time (skipping over a few of the songs of course ;) ).

Yeah, I saw that one. The funny thing is, the guy signed the petition (negatively, but he signed it).

Hey AKA,

Thanks for your efforts!

BTW, enjoy the McCartney. Hope it's not costing you too much.

No price is too much for a DCC McCartney!

I'm sure I'll love the DCC McCartney and while it will be my first DCC disc, I'm positive it won't be my last (I have to get Red Rose Speedway, Venus And Mars, and Band On The Run, too).

So keep remastering 'em. We'll keep buying 'em!

That's actually pretty funny. Good for you for keeping it on there. Hey, that could be the one that pushes them to green light the project!
