I know some of you have this tonearm and wondered if you could help. this tonearm has a habit of sticking at some point on its journey. it doesn't happen all the time and when it does a light touch gets it going again.

i have levelled everything as best i can and the stylis goes directly through the centre of the spindle. my one issue is that the carriage that goes on the tracks has more wriggle room than i would like (ie the carriage may not move straight down the track like it should and maybe it bumps into the side wall which may stop it - although i can't prove it). there doesn't appear to be any dents in the track and in fact i would'nt say that it stops in the same place every time - although sometimes it will go through a run of stopping at the same place.

anyone out there who can help please do

Have you tried contacting Goldmund? Their web address is www.goldmund.com.

i will try them but just wanted some practical advice as i know several members of this site who have mentioned they own a goldmund studio with this arm. the actual instructions from goldmund aren't that detailed so thought they might be my last resort

I'msorry to say that I briefly looked at both of their web sites (www.goldmundusa.com is the American site) and didn't notice anything about their tonearms. You may have to send them an e-mail.

Goldmund has a habit of ignoring emails and letters about products that they don't want to know about any more, sorry to say. I suspect that the tonearms may be one of those products.

Some of the hi-fi forums, such as Audio Assylum, may be of some help.
