I have located a mint sealed DCC Paul McCartney "Ram" that dealer wants to sale from his personal collection. What would be fair price? Also has this cd had it's three runs as far as re-printing and re-issuing? Or will it be one of the reprints when DCC starts up? I hate to pay a big price on this one and then it is re-issued.
Any advice? Thanks

David,
That CD will probably fetch around $100 on eBay, though auction prices of course vary depending on the bidders. I can't recall seeing a sealed RAM go for less than $70 in the last 6 months or so. I haven't seen a non-sealed RAM go for less than $45, and they usually sell around $55-$65.
Not only is this a nice sounding disc, the music is one of Paul's better efforts. I prefer the music on RAM to the music on the self-titled McCartney CD (for example).
In the process of completing my DCC collection I found RAM hard to get. I lost countless auctions for RAM. It's in demand. Most retailers who have this disc want $100 or more.
There are a few DCC discs that are expensive - Gerry Rafferty, Elvis 24k, RAM, Ringo.
In summary - if you can get it for $70 that would be fair.

The S/T "McCartney" also is fairly incredible. I only have a CDR of that puppy. :(
See what happens when you don't buy everything??? :p

I'd snap up that Ram disc if I were you.
It's chances of being reissued are unlikely (IMHO).
Most of Paul's pre 1985 CD's are also out of print for now on the standard Capitol issues in the U.S.

I just got this disc off of Humorem on ebay - one of the ones he found on a spindle at DCC's offices with no packaging. Well worth the money (around $35 or so). This has got to be one of Steve's greatest mastering jobs. I never heard a good version of this before getting this disc. It sounds absolutely beautiful. Pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

I throughly agree with everyone's comments here. I just received my copy of this CD in the mail yesterday. There hasn't been a decent sounding version of "Ram" available since the original Apple Lp pressings, until the gold CD. The standard Capitol and Parlophone imports are horrible and overburdened with noise reduction processing. DCC's version is one of Steve's best mastering jobs.
