Stanley Kubrick and Star Wars fans know Mitchell from his design work. John Mitchell built the model spaceship for 2001: A Space Odyssey as well as that futuristic (at the time) looking turntable featured in A Clockwork Orange. He also made the eyes for C3P0 in Star Wars.
