Just received the Music Direct flyer yesterday. It includes a write-up on the AyreAcoustics/Cardas System Enhancement Disc, titled, "Irrational but Efficacious!"

Among the claims made: Disc highlights include a "... demagnification track to enhance system performance, which it does remarkably... a short 45 second track for a quick system tune up...awarded the "Golden Ear Award" from The Absolute Sound, "Even non-audiophiles can hear the ear-popping improvements...Essential, effective, cheap ($20)."

Has anyone tried this disc? And only recently have I started to hear about demagnification helping a system. Really?

I was told by Audio Advisor or Elusive Disc (wherever I ordered my HFNRR ) that it can actually harm MM carts. To use only on MC..........

And only recently have I started to hear about demagnification helping a system Are you sure they don't mean demagnetizing? I don't think you'd want to make your system smaller by demagnifying it. :D

Demagnification is the word in the ad. But yeah, I am sure they mean demagnetizing.

Dan,

I own the Sheffield demagnetizing cd and frankly I can't hear a bit of difference. Altough, I don't live in a very non humid place either. I think that perhaps it maybe of some use to someone who lives in a dryer more static induced enviroment.

...is this a CD or LP?

The write-up begins, "The demand for this new component break-in and system enhancement CD...."

Sorry I wasn't specific at the beginning.
