A friend of mine sells his 10 year old Thiel CS 2.2. Before I go to his place I'd love to hear YOUR memories of them! Please!

I also had a Thiel speaker (about 8-9 years ago)... can't remember the name. My Thiel had 3 bass drivers... maybe someone can tell me the name?!?
Anyway I was very impressed... one of the best midrange I've ever heard. But the size was too big and I've replaced them thru my Wilson Watt/Puppy.
You can't go wrong with Thiel speakers... one of the world's best loudspeaker manufactures.

I had the 1.2 and it was great. One of the drivers went after 8 years which I read is fairly common, so be careful. Theil has a 10 yr warantee and they replaced it in BOTH speakers @ n/c including shipping both ways.
The 2.2 is a fine speaker as long as you have quality components to play with it. I have had Thiel speakers for over 10 years and think they are one of the better speaker brands at their in the way of tonal balance, soundstaging and overall musical enjoyment.

I owned a pair before graduating up to the 3.6's and eventually the 7.2's. The store in town had a trade up deal which worked out good for me.
The 2.2's are great sounding speakers with a nice soundstage. The treble and mids are smooth and non fatiguing. The bass was a little light for my tastes, that is why I went for the bigger models.
I recommend the 2.2's they are definately High end.

A friend of mine loves his Theils and they do sound awesome, but you better have some power to run them.
My Klipsch speakers are like a Yugo on efficiency of power-- small engine is fine. My 40 watt amp works fine.
The Theils are like having a 1978 Chrysler barge size vehicle that will pass anything but a gas station. Needs a pretty big engine to run it down the road.
Sorry, but this cliche' just fits here.... "Your milage may vary." So some one else might have a different opinion.
