Any SH members use the LAST record care products.anybody want to give their thoughts on these products-does the record preservative really work or is it hogwash-a waste of money and damage to your record collection
I *used* to use it. Years and years later, the Last records sound the same as the "un" Lasted records.
Someone warned me against using it in a long ago previous post. Something about NOT putting chemicals on your vinyl.... made sense!

Years ago, did my MOFIs with the record preservative and found that it made tics and pops more audible . Jvc supervinyl is much softer than conventional vinyl. Never used it again. However when used carefully, Last Stylus preservative seems to do the job!

I have found that Last preservative does seem to make tics and pops more audible also, however this seems to be temporary and disappears after a few playings. Do keep in mind that keeping your records clean will add many years to their lives. I have used Discwasher products to clean my records for nearly 30 years and my records still sound great. I use it rather than the Last cleaners because I don't like to put alcohol on my vinyl.

As I mentioned in an old post about the same thing a few months ago, the old Sound Guard record preservative works like a charm! The LPs I treated with it 20 years ago still sound as good as the day I sealed them with no exrta surface noise or clicks and pops. They still seem to repel dust. Too bad they don't make it anymore.
I also asked about the Last Preservative and no one answered. I guess I know why now.
