This being Friday, thoughts naturally turn towards the weekend. I was thinking of all the weekend themed songs out there; wonder if anyone has done a weekend themed compilation. Might be a fun project.

Three of my favorite weekend songs:

This Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide - The Kings
Here Comes The Weekend - Dave Edmunds
48 Hours - The Clash

Anybody have any personal favorites they'd like to share?

Um, Working for the Weekend from Loverboy would be from my high-school years. I'd consider that band a guilty pleasure though I haven't listened to them in many moons.

Saw them live last year. To be honest, they were really good. Was at a town festival. Basically the whole band.

After a lot of really bad junk food and buying some neat stuff, it hit the end of the night off right. They just liked performing and did a fine job.

The wife and I are making the hour and half drive down to Woodstock for the day tomorrow, so as always we'll be listening to The Band and Dylan. Great music everyday of the week !

Wild Weekend by NRBQ. Not their best song but really a great band, especially in person!

There was a band called the Kingsmen who had a hit in 1958 called Week End. This group may have been Bill Haley's band under another name (sans Haley). Not the Louie, Louie guys. I don't recall the song, but hey, I was only 6.
