Here's a web page that discusses the WKRP In Cincinnati music licensing problems, and syndication music re-dubs that have been discussed here quite often. I wasn't aware that some of the voices had to be re-dubbed by impersonators as well.

thanks, reechie. Too bad the author doesn't list the titles of the songs that were replaced.

The power of ASCAP. :( But it's true how a lot of these songs command quite a dime from the people who use them. Especially "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" - Whew!

I'd be willing to pay a premium price for a DVD set with the original music.
The upcoming 'Freaks and Geeks' DVD set would cost a lot less, but they insisted on the original music. And the true fans will understand.

Sometimes they are even talking about the music, so this must be hard to deal with. The show where Johnny Fever is playing Pink Floyd's "Dogs" and Mr. Carlson comes in not quite sure what to make of it.
