Can anyone give me a honest idea what I have to expect in terms of quality for this record, compared to the original european (dutch) pressing or the normal CD version.

It;s one of my favourites, but the price I can get it for (new) seems a little expensive. (US$ 119)

Awsome!!

I have to agree, that price is a  bit intimitdating...

BUT! If you are a fan of the music, GO FOR IT.

You'll be glad you did!

IMO absolutely outstanding sound. I have the original US and UK pressings along with all the CD isssues, The DCC LP is awesome. With that said I would not pay $119 for it. It's still not an audiophile sound experience.

Get the DCC CD! They are both done by Steve so they will both sound the same.

Or at least look around a bit more..... that price is nuts, man!

Just my opinion. :)

I was a bit afraid for something like that. I wouldn't even think about it when I hadn't had the Machine Head Remix/Remaster from Ian Pace, this version has suprised me for it's sound quality. ANd I was hoping Made In Japan sounded, similar.
Maybe for the kind of music it is better to get the CD.

I may be wrong but I think these soaring prices for DCC product has only recently happened because of the supplies are very, very low and the rumors of it being out of business. I think once new product (hopefully) and some re-releases start rolling out, the prices may become more friendly...

Peter Mew remastered the double CD and it has been NoNoised heavily - songs have been faded together instead of left apart with blank space between them as per the original. String rattle on the bass in Child in Time has actually been removed on this version compared with the rather nifty DCC CD. ?? NoNoise again.
The graphics on the DCC are again superior to the double CD and it is laminated per the original Purple Records UK release

Yes... the DCC package is the best way to go!!! Best sound from all remasters, although the 2 CD remaster offers 3 bonus tracks - not available anywhere else.

The remix is clearer, but without life! But they have changed the channels correctly.

Take the DCC... and be happy!
