wHeeeeeeeee! :D (sorry, Gary :) )
Well, I just saw them yesterday night. IMPOSING little boxes they come in... as in BIG and HEAVY! Just the thing (I think) for good sound.
They came in with a "Thank You!" postcard from my dealer... now I know why everyone should have a close relationship with their salespeople. This guy actually made a special order for me, since those speakers weren't supposed to be sold at that store! :D
For the record, I got the black model. The maple one would take 2 months to deliver :( But the looks... and the sound (I got to listen to the C-5's, Dave!).
I'll unpack them over the week-end...

Energy, Totem, Paradigm, etc they all make good sounding speakers that have a similar flavor. I would imagine its because they get all that free R&D from the national testing facility up there.

That was the case for 20 years, and it has had a tremendous impact, carving out a solid piece of the market share for the Canadian companies.
That government support is not free any more. The testing facility still exists and manufacturers use it - but now they pay.
Still, they achieved significant traction due to the Government's foresight. Good on them.

Ah I wasn't aware it want free. Thanks for the info. My point was that a lot of manufactures used that resource and a lot of the sound from speakers coming up there was generally similar. Regardless if you care for the sound, it was generally always sound at a good value though.
