David K. kindly sent me a 777 on 5/19/00.
Is it broken in yet? Who knows? I enjoy the machine though. Nice, neutral sound. What more could one ask for in a digital player?

yes i like it a lot i have had my player since 01/01
and out of the box it was very harsh and edgy in the highs but here it is a little over a year later and it has settled into a sound i really like-i have the switch on the back set to the 100 mode-what about you.i first had it set to 50 but it does sound different set at 100.now if i could only get a pair of the speakers i want it would be even better-not happy with my speakers.

Ric, the 'XA777ES is that 35-lb. toy, right? What a lightweight! ;) If the price drops, I might just be willing to pick one up. At 35 lb., it would be easy to lift in comparison to the '777ES. :D

Who the hell wants to clamp their own discs anyway? ;)
