The English traditional song "Willy O'Winsbury" is the melody for "Farewell Farewell" by Fairport Convention

Another English folk song "Nottamun Town" was the melody for Dylan's "Masters of War"

Folk song "Baby Let Me Follow You Down" became "Baby Let Me Take You Home" by the Animals.

Richard Farina's "Quiet Joys of Brotherhood" is the same melody as "My Lagan Love"

"Feel the Music" by the Vejtables is almost note for note copy of the Who's "Out In the Street"

Elvis' "One Night" was originally called "One Night of Sin" with a completely different set of lyrics. "Hound Dog" was also quite different in it's original incarnation.

"Love Me Tender", the Elvis hit (and rightly so) was originally a really old folk song named "Aura Lee". I've got it on a CD - it's by The Shelton Brothers. It's done a bit more uptempo and in harmony thoughout.
