From what I can tell, that equalizer is the same one I have. Neat to play with, but I would probably consider it mid-fi. (I remember it didn't cost me much when it was new...and I THINK I may have even bought mine from that DAK mail order shyster.) Did it come with the mic and remote?
Can't say I'm at all impressed with the Ortofon on my own Dual. Sound quality to me is mediocre at best...build quality is terrible.
That set of Mits gear looks cool! :D
Hi Rudy,
Thank you very much for the comments. I am sure glad someone replied with some comments.
I have a remote for the BSR, not sure if the Mic is there. It operates in the digital domain.
I have not hooked up any of it yet. It all came with the receipts and all manuals. I am anxious to hear the speakers.
build quality is terrible is that on the Dual Q series?
This puppy was $730 when new, yet it is newer than the Dual I used to have that I really liked. If it is a worthy turntable I was thinking of getting a Shure V for it.
I was thinking the Dual would sound better than my Rotel with the imitation SME arm. What do you think?
Here is a pic of the Rotel. I have not hooked up my Thorens TD124 (Pic in the same thread). It has a old Ortofon ESL tonearm.

I wasn't aware of that. I mean, as a "gadget", I love the thing...being able to store EQ curves in memory, use it as a spectrum analyzer (although I have no idea how accurate it is)...but I don't know what kind of sound quality it puts out. I used it mainly to kick up some older recordings I was putting onto cassette. The microphone is small...it's on a long cord with a 1/4" phone plug, and the mic itself isn't more than an inch long and has something like a tie clip on it.
Funniest part about mine: I bought it many years ago just to have a remote volume control for my audio system. ;)

The turntable itself isn't bad--mine is one of those that had the Ortofon cartridge designed into it to make a complete ULM (Ultra-Low Mass) system. Sonically, the turntable part is not bad at all...and its direct drive motor is very stable in speed. Nice unit. But the first time I took the stylus out, part of the cartridge body fell out along with it. Not impressive at all, and the mounting system is sloppy. It tracked OK, but nothing great. (Again, I'm comparing it to a Shure V15...anything's a bad tracker compared to that one. :) ) Certainly makes me hesitate to buy another Ortofon! I'd heard there was some kind of adapter or alternate headshell for this turntable. I may look into it, or just sell it off. I've had my eye on some of those nice Denon turntables with the nicely finished wood bases. :) A good second turntable, something I could put another V15 on. :D
