View Full Version : Any recommendations for a new SACD/DVD Changer?

I'm thrilled with the single disc Sony DVD/SACD player that I now have, but now that I'm buying more SACDs it's becoming a real hassle to keep switching them out with the various DVDs that are constantly in the deck. (The problem is compounded now that the kids are watching their cartoons and kids movies, and I never seem to have the time to watch a movie DVD all the way through any more.) So now I'm considering getting what I should have gotten in the first place: a 5-disc DVD/SACD changer. I would get separate units, but it's too much of a hassle (isn't it?) to deal with the 5.1 channels on both since they would share the same input on my receiver. (Or is there a way around this?)

Anyway, are there any 5-disc models out there right now that would be recommended? Quite frankly, I found more SACD players in the stores a year ago than I'm seeing now...

I saw in Crutchfield that Sony has put out a changer version of their 755. I don't recall the model number. It is not an ES model, and if I remember correctly, it was the same price for both the single disc model (755) and the changer model. Sorry I cannot be more specific.

Actually, in looking further, it seems that the new Sony nc685v should fit the bill. (That may be what you're refering to Ian.) I haven't seen one out in the stores yet. Anyone heard anything about it?
