What does everyone use for CD Storage? I'm thinking about purchasing the one of the Can-Am units

Does anyone use these? Anyone have any other ideas?
I've got around 700 CD's.....

I was planning on doing the same thing. I think that due to lack of space I'll probably go with the Billy Bags cd storage myself. I don't know if this is an actual link but we'll try it.

I prefer horizontal racks for two reasons. One, I can find what I'm looking for easily and two, when I get a new disc it's fairly easy to rearrange the discs to keep them in alphabetical order. That aside, I currently have over a hundred discs sitting on the floor because I've run out of space. I've been looking at the Boltz racks but I need to make sure they have enough height between shelves to accomodate the Japanese single sleeves. Alot of the racks I've seen can't hold them. Thier LP racks look pretty nice too.

I agree with you Dave. The only problem I've found with Boltz is a lack of customer service. I'm still waiting, for almost 1 year now for a catalogue from these people where as Billy Bags had theirs to me within 2 weeks. Very similar design though.

Do you own a Boltz unit? The reason that I ask is because nowhere did I see the word stainless, just steel. Definately better pricing.

Yes, and I just looked and couldn’t find that word either. Sorry, they are nice and shiny though.

Yeah, not very "kid friendly" either.

The Can-Am unit appears to lock and keeps the CD's dust free....

I don't know if you really care about this much, but they seem very utilitarian. Doesn't do much for the decor... In other words, they're pretty ugly. Do they have anything in wood? Sorry, I don't have any suggestions.

They aren’t the most beautiful units....

You can always modify a bookcase by adding several more shelves. If you don't want the CDs to slide back all the way, you can put spacers behind, or wooden stoppers, or store junk behind them.

A bookcase usually is less expensive than buying a huge wooden shelf unit specifically designed for CDs.
