Does anyone have any experience or knowledge as to how good the MMF Phono Pack phono pre-amp is? I tried to look it up on Audio Review.com but it wasn't listed on there. Thanks for any info.

Funny you should ask ... I just bought one two days ago, primarily to improve the quality of my needle drops (vinyl-to-CD via computer). Bought it to replace the phono stage on my dying Proton D540 integrated amp.
Though I haven't had too much time to listen to it, I have done some fairly critical A/B tests with pretty demanding pop material, and I found that the MMF Phono Pack sounds smoother and has a more transparent midrange than the phono stage on the Proton, which has a nice "big" sound but tends toward glare and a bit of an "awww" coloration compared to the MMF Phono Pack.
My verdict so far is that the MMF Phono Pack give me more neutral and revealing sound than the D540's phono stage, and so far I'm very pleased. I paid 80.00 for an open-box unit that I believe is an older model. The newer ones have a two-step capacitance selector on the back.
Hope this helps.

Another option is Jim Hagerman's Bugle at $125.
