I'm fond of listening to Steely Dan at night. Also Fagan's The Nightfly. Mmmm... I think I'm actually gonna go put that one on. :)

I'd imagine listening to Silk Degrees late at night in Miami would be cool... but there are a lot of other great choices out there too....

Waltz for Debby was done by the Bill Evans Trio. I have the XRCD version. Analogue Productions released a gold CD of this title, which I’ve not listened to.

I like Larry Willis, and Bill Evans for late night piano listening.

1 a.m.? Heck the night is young. Start off with the Doors first album, fix 2 Triple Margaritas, chug-a-lug the first one, sip the 2nd and switch to the 70's - Radar Love, Time Has Come Today...
After the 4th stiff one put on L.A. Woman and crank it to the max...

The all-time greatest 1 AM album...

Pink Floyd's......

"Wish You Were Here"

A perfect one would be Chris Botti's "Miami Overnight" on his new album, Night Sessions. It's available on CD and SACD.

Keith,

I'm on the lookout for this SACD. I missed it at Fry's for $16.99 recently, and $17 is the maximum I like to pay these days for the Sonys.

"Waltz For Debbie" is coming out on APO SACD soon, with a couple of other great jazz discs, but I have two of these already on good transfers (DCC of "Sax Colossus" and XRCD of "Way out West") but Waltz and "Chet" are attractive.

One of my new favorites for late night listening is Diana Krall, especially her latest "Look of Love". It is seductive as hell and a great recording to boot (not that it means anything, but I think it won a grammy for engineering). I know some die-hards prefer her piano trio music, but I really like the strings and bossa nova touches she has been adding. Also, she sounds like she is relaxing much more as a singer; she has definitely found the right touch for classics like "Cry Me A River".

Guilty pleasure: "2:00 a.m. Paradise Café" by Barry Manilow (if you live in an apartment).

Or "Amused to death" by Roger Waters (if you live in your own house)
