What does "Pth, thermal power rating" mean?? Check out the T&S parameters:

http://www.hilberink.nl/codehans/tannoy38.htm

This rating for the Gold 12" is 30W. Does that mean that is the maximum power these speakers will handle? Will I blow these or overheat/warp/damage the voice coils with 70 wpc solid state? 40 wpc tubes?? Help me understand this, please. I'm really nervous because I've been working these babies pretty hard with my 70 wpc Arcam amp. Would it be sonically obvious if I had done damage??

Let's see. Sensitivity of 94.8dB per watt per metre. Say 92 at your listening chair. +3dB when doubling the power -> 107 dB at 32 watts. That's really loud. Are your ears ringing?

You were probably just pumping a few watts through it.

Geoff
