Just wanted to thank everyone for my new guy post.

Took some of your advice and headed out ot a used record store this weekend.

3 hours and 25 albums later I knew that not only was I hooked, but the wife came with me and spent just as much time sitting on the floor searching through the dollar pile as I did !!!!

Your right. Found some Mint, NM dollar deal, a James Taylors JT did look like it had ever been out of the jacket, much less stuffed between any other albums, Alan Parson I Robotw/some cover wear, but the Vinyl SHINED when I took it out.

Of the 20 dollar records, only 1 is headed for the round file, too bad it was one of the ones I wanted most - Moody Blues DOFP/Deram. But did find a sealed MB in the dollar bin.

Think we are hooked - now if I can just get my new table sounding right !

"DOFP" is really a hard LP to find in good condition. The Polygram reissues are OK, but even the London issues (US) are found in either trashed or VG condition. Occasionally you might find a Polygram/Deram from the 80's as a reissue, but even a mint one can sound terrible.

Keep on diggin... Never give up, never surrender!

McIntosh,

Keep looking, you'll find a first US pressing in no time. In New York I keep seeing them everywhere from time to time in VG to NM condition. It was a very popular album...
