I just wanted to add my 2 cents.....I bought the remastered version a couple years back....Miniature LP style, inserts etc....

IMO sound quality blows away the original capitol CD.

No Idea thought how it compares to the DCC release.

Thanks!

I don't have that one (the mini lp sleeve version) but the DCC is really phenomenal - grab it if you can!

This isn't the stock Capitol (made in USA) remaster is it? I bought that one, and immediately sold it. No-noised to death. The DCC is BEAUTIFUL. I love it!

:(

Sorry. The Capitol remaster of "Dreamboat Annie" isn't that hot, in fact, it's sonic murder. Was ticked off after it was released. Glad I got the DCC when I could. Again, it sounds like I'm putting Steve before all, but I can't lie.

I had both. The DCC one is better. Steve said it didn't sell well which is a shame.

I agree also. I recently found a used copy of "Dreamboat Annie" and it sounds fantastic. I'm surprised to find out this title didn't sell better.

By the way Steve, thanks for re-mastering Dreamboat Annie. I was waiting for years at the time for a good CD version to be available.

You're welcome, Steve.

The first version I had of that record was a picture disc. I have fond memories of those songs. I wanted to be in that band, lemme tell ya! ;)

At one time I preferred the mini-LP remaster over the DCC, as the DCC sounds a tad dull in comparison. However, at high volumes, the EQ of the remaster results in harshness that the DCC does not have (due to the flatter EQ). The DCC really comes to life at high volumes.

I would imagine that most Heart fans would prefer the remaster (due to the lively EQ), and there is one spot where the remaster sounds very good (better than the DCC) - the acoustic guitar intro to "Crazy On You".

I love the mini-LP packaging, though - in fact, I keep my DCC copy in it! I wouldn't mind seeing some S&P CDs released in mini-LP...
