Recently LOUD & Clean was contacted by the family of
well-known and respected communications consultant and
teacher Donald Howe. Don has retired, and he and his wife
have moved to an assisted living facility. Don is hoping to
find 'good homes' for the plethora of electronic test equipment
and radio-frequency devices he has collected during his
decades of practice. Many of these items date back to the
dawn of broadcasting. A few of them are hand-made, first-
of-a-kind devices that reveal the imagination, creativity and
inspiration that Don and others like him at the time applied to
solving the mysteries of wireless communications through
'the ether'.
Rather than taking the easy way out, simply throwing the
items up on one of the auction sites where it may end up
commoditized, we thought a private sale amongst us radio
types might be more appropriate. The proceeds of this sale
will go directly to helping make Don's retirement years as
comfortable and pleasurable as possible. LOUD & Clean
is retaining no profit from this effort.
