Are used speakers from the UK taxed in California???

Has anyone ever bought speakers from the UK? I'm thinking of purchasing a pair and I'm wondering if I'm going to get slammed with some sort of duty or additional fees.

I don't know if this helps, but I have purchased videotapes, books, CDs and audio transformers from the UK and I have not been hit by anything other than shipping fees.

Any reputable person will not charge you VAT if the package is intended for shipping to the USA.

Also, I have sent things to the UK via UPS and Fed-Ex and there were no problems either. Customs has opened the packages to take a peek, but nothing else unusual.
