Cool looking piece, though. My introduction to real stereo was my grandparents' Fisher receiver.

Prix, what tubes does this baby use?

It's a beauty, but I think it's OK you lost. You can get a great tube Fisher integrated for less, under $300 often. Just keep trying.

That looks way different than the photo of the X 202 B I posted on your other thread. Hmmm.

Dan C

Oh I see. It's an "X-202 C" not "B". Big difference.
I've never seen one of these.

The ad says 7591. Here's what Google got me:

That's just the thing. I didn't loose. I won. Ouch! I was under the impression that the 202-B was 35 wpc and this seller told me the correct spec for this amp is 42 wpc. I was willing to pay for that much power because now my setup will be much more versatile in terms of swapping out speakers and what not. What I will probably do to offset the damage is sell the cabinet if I decide to keep the amp. This baby also has to sound better than my Harman Kardon A500 in order to remain in my house.

Prix, Don't feel so bad. This looks to be an excellent unit and looks killer with the cabinet. Don't sell it!!

I have a pair of Fisher 80AZ monoblocs that sound fantastic, it gives my Mac a run for it's money. Vintage Fisher stuff is awesome.

Congrats!

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I'm still going to sell the cabinet, though. I don't like the way it looks with the gorgeous gold and silver.

The 202-B and the 202-C look like they have a different layout. Check it out:

It's hard to tell, but it looks kind of like the 202-C has a slightly bigger power transformer also.

Actually that's a fair price, Prix! Around here, stuff like that goes for $550-$650 CAD.

Congratulations! I think you'll love it....

You'll give us a review, won't you?

I dunno, man. A poll? Isn't that a bit drastic?

Maybe you should post a poll first to see if you should post a poll on this... ?? ;)

Oh of course. Sorry about that, I misread your header. See, usually one would be very happy to have won this beaut. ;)
Will it sound better than your Harman Kardon? I've never compared the two but I'll bet you 10 DCC LPs of your choice that you're gonna fall in love with that Fisher (disclaimer: Bet not valid in Wyoming or California).

Really, keep the cabinet. It's stock and it's really pretty. Put it in the closet, your tastes might change over time.

Congrats! That's a wonderful unit you own.

Steve, do you have an opinion on the Fisher X-202-C?

I think Fishers sound much much better than HK equipment. Of course I have not heard everything those two companies put out.

Individual tastes counts! What I like you may not like.

(Oh wait..... I'm not Steve. Sorry.)

No sweat. Thanks anyway. FYI, it's the commercial "studio" version of the 202-B......4 x 7591, 42 wpc.

It's okay, Gary. Your opinion means a lot to me also. In fact, I meant to say "Steve and Gary", but I made a typo:D. That's encouraging to hear you say that about the Fisher stuff. What attracted me to this amp is that it was so clean, the seller was a really nice guy and answered all my questions, and it's pretty damn powerful for a vintage too amp. In fact, I wonder if it's too powerful for the vintage Tannoy 12"s? I wouldn't imagine so but sheesh, I don't want to blow them if they're made for really low powered amps. Anyone know what kind of power the Tannoy Monitor Golds will handle?
