Do you know if there was even a test copy of The Story Of Ritchie Valens on Mofi DVD or were the DVDs shelved before they got off of the ground?:)

IMHO This is one artist that is in desperate need of cd format mastering.

Every cd version that I've heard is way too compressed and sterile/flat sounding.

Any hope of this artist ever recieving the appropriate mastering treatment it so justly deserves Steve?

Perhaps the problem is in the original recordings? I don't think that Richie's manager Bob Kean and his "Super-duper ultra-wacko Del-phonic" sound process were very knowlegable about how to make a good master.

Grab the Ritchie GH on British ACE. That's exactly what the tapes sound like....:(
