Oh, I see. I think it has a rather "dry" sound, but for under 1K it's probably a good deal.

I like a wetter sounding preamp, but of course it depends what it is hooked up to....

I have an Audible Illusions Modulus 3 that I bought new 10 years ago and I love it!!! I believe the 3A may have the "click stops" in the volume controls. The model 3 does not; that is the only minor quibble I have with the unit.

It sounds great, was very highly reviewed in the audo press, and has worked perfectly for me since day 1.

I had a Modulus for years. The house sound is, as Steve says, clean. My main quibble was the dual volume controls, since at the time I was into "imaging" and "soundstaging" and it was almost impossible to get the image centered. Nowadays I don't care much about that aspect of performance so I'd probably be more satisfied with it. YMMV.

Sound Like I'll keep looking.....................Spenidng that kind of money, I should keep looking. I'm sure Jeffery will chime in soon. You out there bud? I think its still between a VAC or a C-20. Thw AI sounds a little too analyitical for me.
