I see on the Steve Hoffman discography EJ's Your Songs CD MCA MCAD-31016
is listed. Can you tell me anything about this release and if the mastering is comperable to your work on the EJ DCC disc? Thanks

Well, I cut the LP version at MCA-Whitney with Kevin Gray. I never heard the CD version except once at a Super Bowl party when it was on someone's player.:)

I would say.......Forget it.

I had both versions LP/CD. The LP wins hands down. The CD sounds like a Cd.

For what it's worth I'm playing the CD now with headphones and while it doesn't sound quite as nice as the DCC gold, it still has the breath, good dynamic range, and that great wet Steve Hoffman drum sound. I wouldn't sell this one short. After all, a SuperBowl party isn't the ideal listening situation; it's hard to hear over the chomping of porkskins and slurping of beer hats. ;)
