well, I FINALLY scored a copy of the DCC Nat Disk.
HOLY MACKERALL!!
Fantastic sound quality on this one. Nats voice sounds like its in the room with you.
Love the last track also. cool two track mix.
Steve.....thanks alot for the great job. I'm sure this Cd will impress the dates I bring to my bachelor pad.

If anyone has any (reasonably affordable) leads on this release, I'd love to know about 'em. All I have is a rainbow-label Capitol mono LP, and I'd love to hear Steve's version, either on CD or LP. Thanks ...

I've been watching this one on ebay. It is only $8.50 right now. I have a copy so don't worry about bidding on it.
Item # 1512335044
It is a promo copy.
Good luck!

I just found out that my copy DOES have the hidden track.....Steve, that is VERY cool.
So thats what binaraul sounded like in 1956, 45 years ago, eh?
Boy, those Capitol Engineers knew what they were doing, didnt they?
Steve, what tape stock do you think they were using.....was Scotch 111 around then?
Or would they be using something from Ampex, since they had Ampex recorders?

Mikey,
They used half inch Scotch 111 recording tape for the Nat King Cole "Love Is The Thing" recordings.
Ampex didn't start making their own tape until many years later. Scotch was the king of tapes, though Capitol actually made their own later too. For recording sessions, Scotch was almost always used!
