I have this combo ,listening experience smooth.Even over compressed recordings are easy on the ears.

How did the DAC affect sound quality?

softer I have it connected via coax. the rega planet is great as a stand alone but I find the sound more natural throught the DAC.

I rarely suffer listening fatigue as one sometime does with other cd players.
