Thanks for the link, Mikey. I use the older version of this player, the SCD-XA777ES. I think it is a great machine. I'm not sold on the cosmetics of the newer version, but that silver color is kinda cool.

Yea, Sam, I agree. My thing is that for 3,000$ it doesnt play DVD-A as well....what the hell were they thinking??

I surprise it took Sony this long to get around to it. The old SCD-1 had been the top dog in the Sony line for too long. It is great player (I have one), it was Stereophile's first A+ digital source and their digital source product of the year in 2000 (the original 777ES was basically the same player without the balanced outputs). But it is only two channels (which is fine with me). It looks like the 900 has much of the SCD-1 in it. Let's hope it is worthy successor to top dog in the line.
