View Full Version : Act of God????
Anyone know what this guy on ebay is talking about? Was there a mass destruction of DCC product, due to a force of nature?
"Recently, it was announced that during the summer an Act of God destroyed almost all of DCC’s remaining Limited Edition inventory."
Where was it announced? Because I certainly didn’t here the announcement. Did anyone else?
I think perhaps the only one who would know would be the Mastering Guru himself as this one's news to me as well.

How about the creep selling MFSL GOLD ULTRA DISC BEATLES-Abbey Road, Let It Be, Sgt Peppers! as legit releases. The poor souls are bidding well over $50+ what a shame.
Andy,
There has been much discussion about this particular seller being quite the ripp-off artist. Affectionately known as MyMusicRip on the forum.
After Sckotts rant about this clown, I've never had any dealings with him, fotunately I never will either, as his shipping rates as well as his prices and stories are way off the wall.
You know, I love to see people start their auctions at outrageously high prices for DCC and MFSL stuff and have no one bid on them. The sellers then relist it for the same ridiculous price and still no one bids. What are these people thinking and what kind of universe do they live in.

Well, a couple of years ago, the MFSL product was going pretty high on Ebay. That's not the case now, it least on certain titles. I'm not sure if the economy has anything to do with it. It seems a waste to start auctions high and get no bids.
Regarding MyMusic Fix -
I ordered a used Chicago gold CD from his website (one of the few that was priced reasonably - $65). I spoke to the webguy on the phone, so I verified both the price and that the CD was in stock. Later that same day I was emailed - "Whoops, don't have that item anymore, sorry", BUT I was promised that if another one came in, I would get it for that price.
About 2 weeks later, I saw they were auctioning that same CD on Ebay (winning bid turned out to be about $100). When I emailed them and asked what was up with this, the reply (from "the boss") was that "I sell to whoever (sic) I want". When I asked him how he would react if the winning bidder emailed him and said "Whoops, found it at a garage sale yesterday for less, won't be needing yours, sorry", he had no answer.
I'm supposed to think that the $65 price was a "typo", though that was never said. Even if it was a "typo", why make promises you have no intention of keeping, instead of just telling the truth?
I guess if you don't understand the concept of "making a deal", you can't have any respect for it.

Act Of God? ********.
Do you mean it was deliberately destroyed? Or that it wasn't destroyed at all?

OK, I just emailed the guy acting all friendly like. First he admitted there was no announcment, and then he admitted that it is a "rumor". So he just admitted to fraud. :D

Revised Mymusicfix eBay ad:
Recently, it was announced that during the summer Nostradamus predicted that all of DCC’s remaining inventory will be bought and resold by dccblowout on eBay in Janyary, 2002.

Isn't there anyway we can "out" these guys on e-bay? I feel sorry for the idiots that get burned and it's bad for the legitimate sellers who lose sales because of it.
Dave B,
All we can really do is what we're currently doing, informing our fellow audiophiles that these sellers are crap.
Ebay is extremely lazy when it comes to this sort of thing including when you've out and out been ripped off. It all sounds good ie. you are insured for such and such % of your transaction but after talking with people on their forum it can take a month of bloody Sundays to retrieve any amount from them, if at all.
