Anyone remember "Farmers Daughter" by them??- a really nice, pleasant tune to listen to. I believe it was a b- side single? Does anyone know what the A side song was and where the heck I can find this single to buy??. CD format would be great but if only vinyl is available, that would be fine too.

A Brian Wilson song. Played live quite a bit, especially in their early period. You heard a studio ver?

I might have to ask my brother about it- as he had recorded it years back onto his open reel (Teac A-3440) from somewhere and more recently he recorded an MP3 of it from somwhere online - maybe audiogalaxy.com It could very well be a Live version, I dont recall if there was audience applause at the end. Another GREAT song for anyone interested, which you can find/hear at audiogalaxy: "Rest in Peace" by Chad & Jeremy- if you can appreciate a cool 60's tune, check this one out!! (I found the actual CD its from, Painted Dayglow Smile, and snapped it up on Ebay just a few days ago).

The memory ain't quite as sharp as it used to be...but as I recall, Farmer's Daughter was either a "sound check", studio track, or just had minimal audience sound. Should be available on the CD though...and yes a GREAT song too!

It was the last track on 1980's "Live" album. According to the liner notes it was recorded, along with Fireflies & One More Night, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for crew and friends. If you listen closely at the end you'll hear a few people clapping.
It was released as a single in the UK in Feb. 1981 (backed with the soundcheck version of Dreams) and in the US in April 1981 (backed with the live take of Monday Morning.)
