Steve,

I hope you don't mind me constantly thanking you the way I have. My only motive is that I sincerely appreciate the work and efforts you put forth on remastering. My folks met at Roseland in NY. My mother only likes listening to music if she can dance to it. I love just listening to it. I enjoy the overall mix, the stereo picture. Of all the remastering gurus out there (Bill Inglot, Bob Irwin), you are on top!

I found this little gem on Half.com factory sealed for $50. Had to have it. I put this along side Spirit of America (also bought on Half.com for $30). Thanks for including the single mixes of Help Me Rhonda & Be True To Your School.

Had a couple of questions: I love the long version of Good Vibrations (10 seconds longer). Wonder why they keep fading it out early on the other CDs (except for the Razor & Tie one)?

Also, I bought the vinyl version of Endless Summer when it first came out and there was a poster included. I noticed it wasn't included with the CD in miniature form.

Thanks again Steve!

Brian

Hi Brian,

Glad you are enjoying "Endless Summer"!

There was a problem with the poster if I remember. The original artist needed to be notified or something. Capitol just had so much energy to give our little DCC projects, so we let it drop.

"Good Vibrations". I always hated that fast fade, and Brian Wilson told me that it was done because the song was running too long for radio so they had to "get out" fast. I think I just ignored the fade cue and kept it going for a little while longer. I did the same for my Razor & Tie version too.

Another Beach Boys song that has a too fast fade is "Help Me Rhonda" (the second "hit" version). I would have let that one run on a bit longer too, but someone just cut the fade out of the master tape with a razor blade and chucked it out. So,you have to fade fast or the music just dies on you. If you turn it up at the end on my DCC or Razor & Tie version you can hear where the tape just ends during the beginning of the fade. I left the volume up as long as I could. :)
